" This concept is a diasporas journey of my own heritage to find out my cultural identity and where I stand as a fashion designer in the society of today. As a child brought up in a mixed-race background, the opportunity to adapt to several cultures is apparent in me, as my features are slightly different, just as how I have migrated into Australia and being more comfortable with the Western ideals and lifestyle. However, one does wonder the loss of cultural identity and having to change, and not segregate oneself from any kind of religion/race/belief. In turn, I have designed a collection that is a personal reflection that incorporates the aspects of traditional menswear tailoring and the exotic costumes from my mother’s Chinese Baba-Nyonya culture. "
